Les dictionnaires bilingues et l'interculturel

[Autom. eng. transl.] The purpose of this issue is to contribute to metalexicographic thinking, particularly regarding the relationship between bilingual dictionaries and (inter) cultural content. Assuming their metalinguistic function, as repertoires of words and cultural artefacts, dictionaries are undoubtedly the privileged tools to 'track down' culture in the language and to reflect on the users' needs for knowledge, in an approach that travels the space between two cultural languages. Through these articles, a broad conception of the intercultural dimension emerges in bilingual dictionaries: it is an approach that enjoys theoretical reflection on culture and takes into account the pragmatic goals of the dictionary, before looking into syntagmatic part, in diachrony and in synchrony.
