Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution analyzes a short poetic text of 12 verses, perhaps of epigraphic origin, which enhances the miraculous transport of the marble ark now in the Milanese basilica of S. Eustorgio. According to this poem was the same Eustorgio I, bishop of Milan in the sec. IV, to transfer to Milan the huge sarcophagus, originally intended to house the remains of an emperor. A new critical edition of the poem is proposed, welcomed in a Milanese epigraphic collection dating back to the century. XI, which was later used later in the Liber notitiae sanctorum Mediolani (Sec. XIII) and by the scholars of the century. XVI (Andrea Alciato and Giovanni Battista Fontana). On the basis of stylistic considerations we suggest a chronology collocation in the sec. X-XI.
