Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Radicalization is one of the most important threats that 21st century societies face. It is an intricate psychological and social process, through which people acquire extreme beliefs, attitudes and ideologies, justifying the use of violence to achieve their goals and impose their worldview. To date, families and their role in the radicalization process have not received adequate attention from researchers, despite the growing interest shown by policy makers in several countries. However, discovering the factors that push an individual to radicalize, especially within a religious context, has proven crucial to identify appropriate strategies to prevent this phenomenon.
