Legami che liberano. Quando la relazione tra genitori in carcere e figli è occasione di crescita e libertà?

Translated title of the contribution: Bonds that liberate. When is the relationship between parents in prison and children an opportunity for growth and freedom?

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The essay addresses the issue of imprisoned parents, that is subject of a study on a group of fathers in the prison of Piacenza. The relationship with the children is influenced by their age, so while with the smallest of them you can cultivate a warm and friendly relation (although crossed by omissions and lies), the teenage children show a rage that often results in suspension of the relation and urges held fathers to give in to temptation of immaturity, evading confrontation. The conclusion is that without affective reworking and emotional rehabilitation of freedom in relations, meeting between parents and children, if not impossible, is certainly very difficult.
