Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The paper presents the research project related to the history of «Pro infantia» (later «Scuola materna») from its foundation (1913-1914) to the promulgation of law 444 of 1968. The point of view of the Catholic magazine from Brescia will be investigated to some significant moments in the history of the infant school coinciding with the great political, social, economic and cultural transformations that took place in Italy between the early 1900s and the years of the economic boom. An attempt will be made to investigate, for example, how the newly formed magazine welcomed the 1914 programs, which were inspired by the Fröebelism reform launched in Mompiano (Brescia) by the Agazzi sisters under the guidance of Pietro Pasquali, or how it dealt with during the years of the world conflicts, the themes of war and national education, or even how it faced the political-cultural lines of fascism until it came to examine what educational priorities it identified for the resumption of democratic life and how it commented on the debates that led to the approval of the law on the regulation of the state nursery school.
