[Autom. eng. transl.] Every person, with his coming into the world, is called to perform a very specific task: turning to the conquest of autonomy, even if the situation of dependence in which he finds himself can currently be satisfying. We can say that all human life unravels between the two extremes of dependence and autonomy; just as we can affirm that the conquest of ever higher levels of autonomy correlates directly to a specific educational objective: the assumption of personal responsibility towards the world of experience. The article reflects on the reasons just mentioned, and then lingers on the educational action that the family is called to carry out, especially in the adolescent age of children.
