Abstract
The introduction reflects on the evolving role of educational professionals in the wake of the pandemic, drawing on Donald Schön’s concept of the “reflective practitioner.” In increasingly complex and uncertain contexts, educators are expected to develop second-level competences, which go beyond technical skills to include sustainability, innovation, organizational dialogue, and fidelity to educational values. The volume explores seven key competences: team work, reflexivity and supervision, narrative competence, humor, research, ethics and professional conduct, and tutoring. These define a professional profile grounded in critical awareness, experiential learning, and a commitment to thoughtful, creative practice.
