Le virtù in azione. Prospettive per il lavoro sociale ed educativo

The article begins by mentioning some of the sociopolitical problems of Western societies and argues that, to address them, the social collaboration laws-rules are insufficient and virtues are needed. It highlights, for example, that the excess of rules and controls produces the increase of transgressions and that virtues are the foundation of the social tissue. It then focuses in particular on civil virtues and on the value given to them even by some liberal authors. Finally, it applies the previous discourse on the inadequacy of norms to the Italian deontological code of social workers, and highlights, of these professional figures, some of their civil virtues, such as justice.
