Abstract

The essay explores the change of audience and cinema experience in Italy after the sonorisation of cinema. Through the analysis of a wide spectrum of documents (cinema journals, researches, institutional data -ie SIAE data,..) the essay proposes a innovative cadre of the history of the film audiences and of the cinema in Italy.
