Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution analyzes the experience of the Sacramentine Sisters of Bergamo as missionaries in Kaifeng from 1940 to 1951. On the basis of the unpublished documentation of their mission, preserved in the historical archive of the Sacramentine Sisters in Bergamo, their missionary action and their interaction with the Chinese context in a very troubled period for China: the second war of resistance to Japan, the civil war and the communist revolution are the backdrop to this story which is testimony to the great contribution made by the women's orders to the missions in China.
