Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] A book-story with eight stories collected in the Caritas listening centers: events in which the protagonists (old and young, individuals and families) have experienced experiences of hardship and marginalization, poverty and loneliness. For each story a network was activated that involved voluntary associations, institutions and parishes, encouraging them to cooperate, to take on problems, according to a perspective of active citizenship and community work. The narration of the eight exemplary events is accompanied by methodological reflections, which refer to new frontiers of social intervention. Stories make the invisible visible, what remains too often submerged. As if the most appropriate metaphor of the Community were the iceberg: what emerges from the water is visible, but its largest part is submerged. The emerged part is supported on the immense mass that is under: how much solidarity, how much social creativity is invisible to the eyes.
