Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Terminological clarity and communicative correctness are key indicators to orient the citizen within a scientific domain, characterized by terms that are most often very technical which hinder understanding. On the other hand, the excessive simplification of concepts and technical language to promote more fluid and immediate communication has not promoted knowledge of the terminology of specialized sectors, thus destined to remain accessible to a niche audience. In this context, to understand the terms that characterize a domain - such as the now highly widespread one of 'enhancement', 'protection' and 'conservation' of biodiversity - it is necessary to become aware of the importance and urgency of information and promotion of fight against invasive alien species (IAS), spreading the terminology that characterizes this sector to the general public. The loss of biodiversity has in fact undergone an unprecedented acceleration, in Europe and in the world, and invasive alien species are the main cause. It follows the urgency of good and conscious communication of the domain, with the aim of raising awareness for the good of the planet and existence itself.
