Abstract
The evolution of Italian corruprion and its relationship with organized crime are analyzed. While highlighting some legal reforms deemed useful to bribery prvention, the role of education and cultural improvement of socities, as a means to heighten social control and selection of political and economic élites, and thus to the overall strengthening of governance indexes, aredeemed of paramount importance to reduce real and perceived rates of corruption.
