Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] This contribution examines the restructuring process that involved the Agrate Brianza site of STMicroelectronics, between May 2005 and November 2007, as a case of local governance of global dynamics, based mainly on a system of cooperative industrial relations and without any intervention of public authorities. The case illustrates the importance of "sharing the scenario" (cognitive anticipation) between social partners at the local level in favoring the competitive positioning of a production site in an industrial company. The chapter is divided into three parts: presentation of the company, analysis of the restructuring process and some considerations about the innovative practices illustrated by the case study.
