Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] To the first properties of the abbey of Fruttuaria in the Savona area attested in the XI century is added within 1154 the establishment of a provost at the town church of S. Giorgio, next to which lived a small monastic community. The lawyer detained in the 12th century by an eminent citizen, Baldo Vicio, suggests that he or his ancestor had given the church to the Canavese abbey. The church of S. Giorgio between 1530 and 1542 was destroyed after the work started by the Genoese for the enlargements of the Priamar fortress.
