[Autom. eng. transl.] To face the theoretical and practical undertaking of enhancement, we need to understand the transcendent and projecting structure of the human. At a first level, in fact, the interventions that aim to increase a man's capacity or performance beyond the therapeutic threshold are inscribed precisely in the horizon of planning and in the dynamism of tension to overcome the goals reached. This description, however, is not sufficient either to fully understand the scope and novelty of the enhancement itself, or to evaluate its consistency with the human. First of all it is necessary to keep in mind the novelty of technology: unlike the technique, this is not in fact catalogable only in the category of the instrument, but it structures a symbolic framework that reinterprets the man himself. A concrete direction of this interpretation is the reading of the subject in functionalist terms: in this way the technology itself is presented as the way of realization of the human and requires the loss of the boundaries between the body and the instrument. We then witness an interpretation of the body functional to the function, relegating it to the peripheries of identity. The second step is then to observe if the body transformation induced to increase a power is readable in terms of a growth of power of the subject. The text offers a brief reading of the enhancement from the perspective of power, highlighting the internal and external conditions of the free act. In fact, there are directives of augmentative conduct that must be rejected precisely in the name of subjective power, when the augmentative intervention intrinsically undermines the conditions of possibility or subjects the subject in a cogent manner to heterogeneous forces.
