Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution shows how, in the period under consideration, the figure of the child was at the center of the interest of toy producers, so much so that psychologists and theologians were consulted for the realization of the games. However, as far as girls are concerned, they remained uncertain for a long time between tradition and modernity, between innovative demands and fear of questioning roles that have been handed down from time immemorial. This historical-educational investigation on the advertising of toys in children's magazines allows us to bring to the attention the important role they played in the construction of the feminine infantile imaginary and in the crystallization or otherwise of gender stereotypes.
