[Autom. eng. transl.] After the positive values of 2017 and 2018, which had given the illusion of a recovery in Emilia-Romagna livestock, 2019 led to a rude awakening: production at basic prices dropped by 15%, returning to levels very close to those of five years earlier (table 5.1). As in 2018, a year of growing values, animal husbandry had grown more than crops, in 2019 both sectors were down, much more modest, however, for the vegetable component, which loses less than 7%, compared to that of origin. animal. In this way, the weight of animal husbandry on the value of regional agriculture, which had gone from 47.4% in 2016 to 48.2% in 2017, reaching 49.9% in 2018, returned last year to 47.5%. . A further element of discontinuity between the last year and the previous two years emerges by analyzing the production trend in the beef sector, where after many years of gradual and constant reduction of regional - and indeed also national - production 2017 had brought a break in the trend, with an increase in volumes produced of around 7%, replicated by just under 5% in 2018; in 2019, however, this sector recorded a -7.7%, with a decrease in quantities which was the response to prices that were also decreasing.
