[Autom. eng. transl.] In many respects, 2018 represents a development of trends for Emilia-Romagna livestock farming that had already emerged in 2017. The most macroscopic observation in fact regards the overall evolution of production at basic prices (PDB), which for the all products of animal origin translates into an increase of 5.8%, significantly lower than that which occurred last year, when an increase of more than 11% was estimated, but still highly respectable (table 5.1). Also in 2018, the gap between the evolution of the animal origin PDB and that of crops is repeated, since the positive trend of the former compares with the negative trend of the second, resulting in an almost invariance (+ 0.4%) of the overall agricultural PDB: in this way the weight of animal husbandry on the value of regional agriculture goes from 48.2% to 50.8%.
