Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In recent years, the services of the transcultural clinic of the Crinali Cooperative have been updated on the basis of clinical considerations developed from emerging issues. First of all, the difficulties of the children of migrant families: some of them do badly at school, others suffer from selective mutism, many adolescents are in conflict with their families. Sometimes social services and the Juvenile Court intervene, often prescribing assessment and evaluation paths of personality and parenting. But with migrant parents, tests and diagnostic tools must be revisited, as the book suggests, to make them sensitive to cultural differences. The arrival of refugees and asylum seekers also raises new questions. What settings and what treatment strategies can alleviate the burden of their traumatic stories? A valuable tool, full of cases and testimonies, this text should be read by all people who work in various capacities in the field of transcultural clinic, in the broad sense of the term.
