Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The “Antonio Marro” Colony-School was founded in Reggio Emilia in 1921. Placed under the administration of the nearby “San Lazzaro” Asylum, it was intended for the education of children and young people – both male and female – with intellectual deficits, to time often forced to live with madmen in hospital. The article focuses on the elementary teachers hired by the Colony between the 1920s and 1930s, with the aim of bringing to light their biographical profile and, in particular, their training. For the purposes of the research, the author combined the study of publications on the topic with the examination of unpublished archival sources.
