[Autom. eng. transl.] More than ten years after the text entitled New family lexicon, this volume takes up and reformulates the key words of a thought about the family that over time has produced a cultural path of research and original intervention. The basis of the reflection is the 'family relationship', the first and synthetic lemma that is articulated in a grammar on the family from a psychological and sociological point of view. Alongside are many other fundamental terms: identity, pluralization, family subjectivity, reciprocity, generativity, care, transmission, transition, trust, justice, gift, debt. The three sections of the book focus on family ties and what circulates in them, allowing us to grasp the relational transformations taking place in the family and in the social context of reference, without losing the red thread that allows us to recognize the essential and irreducible specificity . In the first section the theme is the care, the typical form of the bond that supports and accompanies the family in its critical passages and in its development, from the constitution of the marital pact to the advent of parental responsibility up to the handover between generations. The second section deals with the generativity of social ties: in particular, phenomena such as family communities and family associations highlight the generative surplus of families at the corporate level. However, the care of family ties is not guaranteed a priori but, being the result of family and social relations, it is exposed to the risks of fragmentation and conflict: it is indispensable, therefore, as the third section highlights, to have intervention methods that allow the development and strengthening of intra and inter-family connections by rescuing ascribed and elective memberships
