Abstract
The article comments on the provisions on workers’ participation laid down by the French law on securing the employment (Law n. 504/2013). Here the norms, that make mandatory the presence of employee representatives in the governing bodies of joint stock companies (so called German-style or strong co-determination), are particularly relevant. In the light of French achievements, the author concludes by complaining about the Italian situation, where the experiments on employee participation have been for years high on the political and social agenda, but nothing has been enshrined in the statutory law so far.
