Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay reconstructs the events related to appointments and competitions related to the Chair of Pedagogy of the University of Pavia. The research highlights that this chair, initially linked to philosophy, then to religious instruction and finally to the chair of philosophy again, struggled to have an autonomy and was not yet considered a real science, but was understood as an art practice. Pedagogy, despite being considered predominantly an education technique for teacher training, had considerable progress in those years as it adhered to the educational thought of V. Milde.
