Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution presents a broad panorama of the manuscript traditions of the Latin classics, with particular reference to Seneca, Quintilian, Cicero and the Historia Augusta, in the Longobard and Carolingian age, with first-hand analyzes of the readers and users of the most ancient witnesses. The study of the fortune of these auctores in the following epoch also allows to reconstruct, through comparative investigations, the circulation routes of some classics in the era of Paolo Diacono and immediately after the Frankish conquest of the kingdom of the Longobards. Thus, in the field, the famous statement by Giorgio Pasquali, "Recent-grades non-deteriores", can still be seen to be very effective due to the tradition of some classics.
