Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Care professionals are called to continuous narrative work, in which to connect the experiences of others with their own, and to build a complex thought, aimed at producing meanings, connections and relationships. It is therefore necessary that they form specific transversal skills, which relate the contents of their knowledge to reality, producing in them "knowledge nourished by experience. The analysis of the Italian literature on HD shows a panorama not far from the international scene, in which the promotion, in the training of health professionals, of HD is considered fundamental in the study paths that promote a narrative based medicine model. In particular, we see four different educational objectives: • the development of an empathic attitude; • the development of interpretative skills; • the development of understanding and self-care; • the acquisition of ethical sense and responsibility. The choice of one of these objectives, and strategies useful for its learning, therefore requires a care of the training process: teaching to have an empathic attitude, for example, means putting students in the condition to experience being at first hand recipients, or the fact that they, as students, are treated with empathy. Consequently, the training model which, directed to socio-health workers with bio-psycho-social skills, uses HD strategies, can only be a student-centered model first.
