Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] With the gradual strengthening of the recovery, the central banks of the main advanced countries are starting, with different times and methods, the process of normalization of monetary policy. This will not only lead to changes in the conduct of monetary policy but will also inevitably have effects on fiscal policy. The study of the interactions between monetary policy and fiscal policy is a useful exercise for a double reason. It can allow the understanding of the persistent low inflation even in the presence of extremely expansive monetary policies; it helps us analyze the effect of the normalization of interest rates on the public finance conditions of the main advanced countries and of the eurozone countries in particular.
