Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution first analyses the factors that can create difficulties in accessing services by families with a migrant background. The obstacles are located at different levels, as they can be legal (civic stratification), organizational, structural, cultural. Furthermore, Istat data underline how families with a migrant background are more exposed to the risk of economic poverty and social exclusion. The key to responding to the needs of these families lies in building a relationship of trust with the institutions, in which the figure of the social worker is fundamental, both in responding to needs and in creating community bonds in which rights and well-being are promoted through actions of shared responsibility.
