Le 'Dicerie' negli autografi del Ceffi

The article focuses on Florentine notary Filippo Ceffi’s 'Dicerie da imparare a dire a huomini giovani et roççi' (1326-’28), a collection of vulgar conciones for ambassadors. The new critical edition is based on the two manuscripts that Marco Palma and Sandro Bertelli recognised as autographs (codices Vaticano Palatino latino 1644 and Laurenziano Ashburnham 1084), now compared and studied also from the point of view of their substantial variants. In the introduction, the 'Dicerie' are set in the context of late Middle Ages 'ars concionandi' and described as a re-elaborated version of Matteo de’ Libri’s Bolognese 'Arringhe'; then, a state of the art about Ceffi and his written production is provided. The edition includes indices of proper nouns and places.
