Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The diamond terminological history can be reconstructed from the medieval lapidaries, to discover beside their real and fantastic properties its nature, the knowledgeable and know-how of the trades that revolve around this stone. The example of a Roret textbook of 1832 shows the interest of a study of diachronic terminology.
