Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Among the different processes that characterize the historical period examined by this volume, consumption undoubtedly represents a key element of the socio-cultural change that Italy is experiencing: starting from the Eighties, in consumption it becomes an institutional component in the narration of the contemporary sotria as an indispensable engine for changing society. The essay traces briefly the social scenarios in which the consumer cultures of the Eighties, Nineties and the first years of the new Millennium took shape.
