Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The literature on adoption for not many years has begun to focus attention on the issue of adoptive failures, but there are still few contributions that have dealt with in-depth crisis situations, that is, those cases in which there are significant psychological problems and relationships within the adoptive family, accompanied by many difficulties in coping with them. This work examines, through an ad hoc questionnaire, the experience lived by 44 adoptive mothers who are facing a crisis and explores their perception with respect to the emotional and behavioral difficulties of their children, the couple relationship and the perception of support. received from services and other adoptive parents. The results show that adoptive mothers perceive a high level of emotional and behavioral difficulties in their children, medium to high levels of satisfaction with the relationship with the partner, a high level of support received from other adoptive parents and a low level of satisfaction with the support received from the service operators. The results obtained offer some reflections for the planning of specific support and accompaniment interventions for adoptive families, so as to prevent situations of greater risk in an increasingly effective way.
