Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] A quick look at the texts available on the market clearly shows that urological surgical technique texts abound, while there is a substantial lack of texts dealing with the issue of Complications in urological surgery, the subject of this extensive and in-depth manual. In fact, until now, it has been the oral tradition that transmits the knowledge and experiences on this important topic. In particular, the postoperative course in all its complexity does not find a specific and analytical treatment, although every professional is aware that any surgical intervention must take into consideration the possible complications in order to implement all the strategies necessary to protect the patient. Precisely for these reasons the content of this treatise focuses not only on describing possible postoperative complications after the most common urological interventions, but also on diagnosis, treatment and possible preventive strategies thereof. The work makes use of the long and vast experience of a large group of doctors, urologists and anesthesiologists, belonging to the Urological School of Padua. The volume - structured in a general section of introduction to perioperative management and in two sections on the management of postoperative medical and surgical complications connected to urological interventions - is addressed to all urologists and in particular to the youngest and to specialists.
