Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] An organizational method that truly characterizes educational work is the team. Working in a team requires the educator - and develops in her or in him - a real area of second-level skills. The chapter analyzes the functions and characteristics of the team, also showing its connection with the "referral/deferral mechanisms" absolutely necessary for the sustainability of work. In fact, these mechanisms consist of protocols and procedures that make it possible to take any event that occurs during work and to transport it to another time and another space, always within the work, where it can be analysed, reconsidered, and above all reinserted into broader contexts. The possibility of transforming the way in which daily work is lived also depends on the accessibility and reliability of these mechanisms. The chapter then inserts the team as an organizational modality in the broader context of team working, a phenomenon which, globally and in all sectors, is going through a moment of strong changes, such as the increase in internal diversities, a typically more parity, an extreme virtualization and precariousness. It can be said that the educational and social-health teams have largely been pioneers of teamwork; today they are perhaps a bulwark that maintains the relational density and natural timing of a group, even if they have not effectively resolved all the management problems that are emerging. The skills that enable educators to establish and maintain effective team relationships that are truly supportive are increasingly essential.
