Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay offers a reflection on the role played by the agricultural colonies in Italy between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as an expression of the national social Catholicism active on the peninsula in the service of the uneasy expressions of the rural world. The scientific literature available on the subject is enhanced, presenting the results of some specific experiences activated in the national territory, both in the South and in Northern Italy.
