Le caratteristiche del lavoro del city manager: una ricerca esplorativa

[Autom. eng. transl.] The figure of the city manager has been the subject of wide debate in the literature; however, the contributions aimed at studying their work content are more limited. In this perspective the present article aims to analyze the characteristics of the work of city managers of the provincial capitals. It emerges the profile of a professional called to simultaneously interpret different roles, mainly immersed within the organization, whose work is characterized by the strong multidimensional and relational component. If the city managers analyzed seem therefore more oriented to a privileged relationship with internal stakeholders, in the final part of the work, reference is made to the change in the role of the local authority, which seems to open new challenges, which will probably impact on the evolution of the work of the city manager.
