Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Objectives of the work: 1. to trace the state of the art of the ethical assessment activity in the HTA processes carried out at the Institute of Bioethics of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery “A. Gemini ”of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome; 2. to explain, by means of a comparative analysis of the reports produced, the main issues / problems most frequently encountered. Work methodology: The research was basically conducted on primary databases (Medline-PubMed). Some data were derived from evaluation activities in HTA processes conducted by the Institute of Bioethics of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery "A. Gemini ”of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome. Main contents of the work: Ethics has always been considered an integral part of the HTA processes, in the sense that the evaluation of the ethical consequences related to the use of health technologies represents one of the fundamental objectives of this research sector, in the same way evaluations on safety, effectiveness, economic impact, organizational, socio-cultural and legal. In practice, however, ethical analyzes have rarely found a place in reports. In this panorama, the ethical assessments in HTA processes conducted by the Institute of Bioethics of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery "A. Gemini ”of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome represent, at least for the national panorama, an undoubted novelty in terms of research. The intervention intends to trace the state of the art of this activity. In particular, an attempt will be made, through a comparative analysis of all the reports carried out so far, to identify the main issues / problems most frequently encountered.
