Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] QUATTROMILATRECENTOSESSTA KILOMETRI: so much is the distance that separates Baku from Brussels, making Azerbaijan the most distant among the countries involved in the Eastern Partnership promoted by the European Union. This figure would be enough, and a look at the map, to give an idea of the difficulties that characterize the relations between the two actors. And yet, complementary economic interests and strategic investments (in energy infrastructure) draw the contours of a solid partnership destined to deepen, Moscow permitting. Meanwhile, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict appears a little less "frozen" and an Aliyev (Ilham, son of the first president, Heydar) wins yet another election.
