[Autom. eng. transl.] With "Work for good" is proposed to Italian social workers a work that stands out for its marked originality, not only in our local landscape but also in the international literature of the sector. It is a book based on a review of real successful cases, told starting from the words of the operators who have really accompanied the developments. The volume outlines a sort of inductive process whereby, in the face of an event whose outcomes are positively perceived by the interested parties (the operators, first of all, but also the recipients of the aid), the social worker is involved in an exploration of the elements underlying this "good" perception. The proposed analyzes constitute the outcome of this exploration. Thus, in addition to telling us what social workers do, the text also gives an account of what they think when they work well, of what reasoning leads to decisions and operations, of what emotions go through the helping relationship and how they themselves become the object of awareness and reflection. In this way, the book opens an interesting window on how "good" operators use the methodology, theoretical knowledge and ethical principles.
