Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The theme of work and the social transformations it triggers have marked sociological analyzes from the very beginning of the discipline, albeit with different emphases from time to time based on the approaches of the authors and the lines of investigation. In particular, work appeared as the foundation of society; as a factor for order and social cohesion; as a social action guided by both material interests and ideal motivations; as the essence of man and, at the same time, as a condition of social alienation within particular historical-social contexts and models of development.
