Abstract
The essay goes over the last poetic season of Silvio Ramat, starting from Mia madre un secolo (2002) to Stanza di passo (2020), studying its recurring themes, forms and genres, the literary suggestions and the game of mirrors between autobiography and mythology. It all results in the secluded and backlit portrait of a poet as an old man who, having got through the residual ardours, gives up and early prepares, between memories and outcomes, to take his leave from life.
