Abstract
This essay, presented on the occasion of a multidisciplinary symposium, focuses the attention, from a sociological perspective, on the social thought of Scalabrini and Bonomelli. Both the bishops were very involved in the assistance and advocacy of Italian migrants in America and Europe.
