Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Inspired by a contribution by David Wilkins, social worker and father of two children with cystic fibrosis, the article aims to focus attention on the disability experienced by family members and, specifically, on the impact that parents have on the assessment of the operators. In fact, in Social Work the role played by the parents' perceptions, in particular in working with children and families, is relevant. The article, proposing the history of the caregiving of a father who succeeds in combining the knowledge of his profession and the experiential experiences of parent-caregiver, allows us to reflect on the dynamics and the relationship modalities that develop during an assessment, highlighting different significant aspects, first of all the importance of comparison and the value of reciprocity.
