Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The assessment is one of the most important skills exercised by the professional social service. It is also a fundamental aspect for the interventions of other helping professions, such as extracurricular educators. The term assessment, in fact, refers to the collection of information and analysis carried out by the social operator with respect to the situation of a single person or a family. What should "see", with his expert eyes, a social worker who finds himself observing a situation? With what purpose? What visual angle and what tools can guide observation? This volume directs the reader into the complexity of the concepts and theories that can be taken as reference for this fundamental phase of the aid process. The authors offer a clear and in-depth examination of the main theoretical «maps» - from the traditional to the most innovative - that can guide the preliminary analysis of the different situations of the users and the shared choice of the most appropriate intervention strategy.
