Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume traces the events of the reappearance of the confiscation of assets in the Italian criminal law between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. This sanction, which has survived the history of European criminal law since the time of Roman law, has in fact survived the affirmation of the "codified formula of law" and the principle of the personality of punishment, and indeed has continued to demonstrate to our days, albeit in different forms and contexts, an irredeemable vitality.
