Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Personal and private ties with England, the common experience of teaching, and the frequent attendance of Edgar Allan Poe's texts have placed the English language at the heart of the literary reflection of Mallarme and Verlaine. Indeed, the attendance of the foreign language appears, for the two artists, as the starting point of a reflection at the same time metalinguistic and poetic in their work.
