Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The chapter analyzes the data of the two online surveys designed and carried out by Corecom Lombardia during the first half of 2020, the first with first and second grade secondary school students, the second with their teachers. While the students, without particular distinctions of age, gender or territory of residence, live immersed in a social and cultural environment widely digitized, which has normalized the use of the network through a plurality of devices and which favors the smartphone as the main Internet access technology, teachers, on the other hand, do not yet seem to have introjected into their professional skills and teaching practice a similar degree of digitization, even if they are attentive and available to the opportunities for updating and innovation that are offered to them. From the experience of Covid 19 it is appropriate to come out with a greater awareness of the structural delays and inertia that still mark the school, even if advanced in terms of digital integration such as the Lombard one; delays and inertia particularly evident in the face of the broad and generalized incorporation of the online experience by boys and girls, for which the definition of "onlife" proposed by Luciano Floridi can legitimately apply. At the same time, this social experiment seems to have confirmed both our increasingly evident dependence on technologies, the network and digital platforms - which makes them almost indispensable or inevitable - and the fact that they alone are not enough to initiate process of empowerment or innovation, and even less to guarantee the seal the dynamics of training, socialization and participation. Finally, it is good not to lose on the street what has been experienced, learned, fine-tuned, corrected and tested again in recent months: even if only so as not to risk taking the supposed "normality" for granted, and end up confusing the habit with the only possible way of doing things.
