Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The issue of the removal of minors is crucial, not only for the social workers who deal with Child Protection, but also for all those who in various capacities are involved in these interventions, primarily families and children. We often wonder what the real effectiveness of these actions is, which sometimes invade people's lives in a disruptive way, and if they lead to real improvements in the growth paths of children and young people. The volume presents a research that analyzed the data of the Emilia-Romagna Region relating to minors outside the family in the years 2008-2012, not merely observing the return or otherwise of the minor to the original nucleus. Each intervention was considered from the point of view of the outcome, but also of the process carried out and was related to the main problems of children and families. The picture that emerges is complex and varied and offers points for critical reflection both for operators and for those involved in planning social policies.
