Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The chapter presents the professional practice of advocacy in the field of child protection. The advocacy function is presented both as a typical function of social and health workers, and as a professional practice that can be carried out independently and exclusively. The contribution reflects on the difficulties of children and young people to participate in formal decision-making processes and on how the intervention of an independent professional advocacy practitioner can foster their participation. The reference principles of the work of the spokesperson in the protection of minors are then presented.
