Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The present research intends to verify if the adoptive parents are more likely to perceive problematic behaviors in their children of school age than in a control group. To this end the adoptive parents of 234 children aged between 6 and 11 (234 mothers and 231 fathers) and the biological parents of 227 children of the same age group in the first group (227 mothers and 219 fathers) were interviewed. They were asked to complete a questionnaire containing the Child Behavior Check List / 4-18 by Achenbach. The results confirm the hypotheses and highlight a greater likelihood of adopted children, especially males, to manifest problematic behaviors and to re-enter the band properly considered "clinical".
